In Between Conversations - Sessions 1 & 2

OK...

Just a few thoughts...

I may need to talk to y'all between now and June 4... I may need to ask a question... I may need to tell someone who is doing the same study something that the Lord told me or showed me...I just may need to comment on something that jumped off the page at me during my 2 weeks of homework!!!!

 I may not be able to wait 2 weeks or I may bust!!!!

So here is the deal!!!

If while you are doing your homework you need to talk to someone, comment here under this post!!! This is where we can dialogue in between our Thursdays. 

Does that make sense???? Hope so!

Also, I pray that you will remember why we are doing this study this summer..... I pray that you will seek the Lord throughout these upcoming weeks and listen for His voice in the areas that He will work through.

Please remember that condemnation is not of the Lord and definitely not from the Lord. The Lord brings conviction and the power and comfort to change. Condemnation is from the enemy, guilt is from the enemy!!!

 

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."

Romans 8:1-2

 

We all have idols in our lives! That is why God is going to use this study to show us things in our lives that we may not have ever realized before that need to change! I pray that together with the Holy Spirit's help, that we can uplift, edify, bless, and encourage one another through this study, and rejoice together over the work that He is going to do.

I'm tellin' ya, I know it's going to bring life change to us all!!!

Today is the day!

So here is what you need to do!

Please share in your small groups and on this blog what you perceive to be your biggest challenge toward walking victoriously with God this summer. House full of children? Heavy work load? Difficult season emotionally? Just had your heart broken? Just feel far from God? Whatever it may be, share it with this group so that we can be praying for you throughout the summer and this study. For those of you meeting together, please don't forget to blog your challenges as well so that if anyone is doing this alone, will still feel connected to this group! Thanks!

Turn to Jude 1:24,25 and read your summer Bible study memory verse-segment. (Oh, yes, you can memorize!!! You just have to learn how to make fun associations that make it memorable!) This is our only memory segment all summer so it’s very doable.

And then lastly, by June 4th, have 2 sessions of homework finished!

Be praying that the women who are supposed to do this, will!

I know you may still be confused how this whole blogging thing

will happen, but you'll catch on once it begins! I know it! :)

 

Remember, when you get your book,

you don't need to do anything yet!

You may want to read the introduction, it's good, but STOP!!!!

You will be tempted to go on, but WAIT!!!! :)

An Invitation to Spend Time in the Word!

Summer Bible Study Beginning Soon!!!!

Hello All!

Has your Spring Bible study come to an end?

Don't want to let Summer keep you from studying the Word?

Don't want to wait until Fall to be in a Bible study?

Are you ready for a summer challenge?!?

If you answered "YES" to any of the above, read on!!!!!

You are invited to participate in a 8 week Bible Study.

It's 8 weeks of study but we will only be meeting 5 times.

The name of the study is No Other God's - confronting our modern-day idols by Kelly Minter.

We are kicking off on May 21 & finishing July 16.

Meeting every other Thursday evening, we will discuss our "homework."

Comment by May 14 to let us know who will be participating. Tell us who you are, where you are from, what you do.

Click on the member book on the right to purchase a copy for yourself so we are ready to go by the 21st. Make sure it is the member book and not the trade book. The one on Amazon is the trade book, not the one with the daily questions and such!!!! Click on the picture of the member book (at the right) and this will take you to the only place you can purchase the member book, or if you live near a Lifeway store, walk in and get ya one!!!

July 16 - conclusion

Only 5 times!!! 

For those who live in College Station, we are going to meet on those evenings (place to be determined) to have tea, coffee, goodies and discussion about what we learned and use the questions that will be provided.  If you can't attend that evening, you can still participate by adding your comments by posting on the blog!
